It has been a huge blessing getting to know the hearts and lives of the girls in my class in the few days we've had to spend time together at orientation before leaving for school. We had a bonfire on the beach and climbed a mountain. Looking down through the mist on top of the mountain, I was reminded of God's majesty.
"when I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; what is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?" Ps. 8:3-4
One of the girls, Joy, who has just completed her first year at Newlife, was able to come to stay with us during orientation to answer our questions and just spend time with us. She taught us to sing "This is the day that the Lord hath made" in the language that the people speak where we are going. We are excited to be on our way tomorrow.
